In my practice I explore my connection to Australia as an Irish born woman living in Regional Victoria. It is my belief that when people experience inter-cultural living outside their homeland the issue of who they are and how they interact with the adopted landscape comes to the forefront. Prior to migration this notion is not an issue, for the most part, as people naturally identify themselves as part of their cultural society and form an almost organic connection to their native landscape.  Since coming to live in Australia the disjunctive experience of living outside my cultural community has provided me with the space to reflect on my own sense of identity and belonging.
